On Sometimes…

“God saw all that he had made, and it was very good. And there was evening, and there was morning  – the sixth day.” Genesis 1:31

Sometimes life is busy and filled with so many activities and appointments you don’t  have time to breathe let alone think. Sometimes you just don’t have anything to say. Sometimes when that happens it means you need to take a break. Sometimes it means you need to evaluate all you are doing and stop doing what no longer brings you joy. Sometimes your life is filled with nothing but essential activities that have all converged on one season in life. Sometimes it can all be too much. Sometimes when we take a step back it is all wonderful in its own way. Sometimes everything is going just right, and you sit back to enjoy life in all its many splendors. Sometimes life is hard. Sometimes we say things we shouldn’t. Sometimes we struggle to apologize for our words and our actions. Sometimes we say just the right thing at just the right time. Sometimes we don’t. Sometimes we have a perfect day. Sometimes we live through a perfect storm. Sometimes we miss out. Sometimes we are the center of attention. Sometimes the center of attention is the last place we want to be. Sometimes we find love. Sometimes we lose it. Sometimes we get a perfect score. Sometimes we fail. Sometimes we succeed and lose all the weight. Sometimes we eat chocolate. Sometimes we get the perfect family photo. Sometimes we get to laugh at the family photo. Sometimes life is good. Sometimes relationships are great. Sometimes we walk away. Sometimes we work it out. Sometimes we don’t.

Life is filled with Sometimes. Sometimes it is good and sometimes it is hard. But when we step back and take a look at the big picture of our life…get a little perspective…we realize, life is good all the time. Actually: life is very good. Because the thing is, even in the difficult times, we are learning and growing and becoming.

Peace,

Pastor Beth
